Is there a preferred Mastodon server among the FoC crowd? If I'm going to dip my toe into that water, I'd like to be standing on the shore nearest all my friends, so that if one of us has a tragic toe disease then we'll all fondly remember the time that everyone lost their toes together.

The B&W profile pic restriction on merveilles is also a dealbreaker for me. I like it on principal, but in practice my aesthetic preferences are much too garish to be so tidily contained.
