I'm getting good feelings from the new organisation of channels. Hope everyone else is!

the future of slack: a generic channel where you post the thing you are interested in. After 2 or 3 people vote, the thread is moved to the most fitting channel. This would be nice because many threads intersect different subjects, so sometimes it is hard to determine the most appropriate channel

Oh, to live in a world where Slack allowed you to move messages. Who can even imagine such fantasies!?

My only worry with splitting off into a new channel is that we'll miss the attention of some of our 1309 members who are interested in logic programming but don't end up seeing this announcement! (e.g. people who don't log in for the next few days).

(A) That's why I want to keep the #CGMJ7323Z channel low-volume — 1 post per week, on average, is what I'd like to see it maintain in the long term.
(B) That's the big tradeoff with subject-specific channels. They tend to be ghost towns for discussion, but they work well as a filtering mechanism: if you want a fantastic collection of FoC-related graphics posts — and only graphics posts — that's #CE1R695T7. Some of them even have discussions (how novel!)

Perhaps every so often, I could post a reminder to folks (where?) of which subject-specific channels exist? :/
