Hi @Ivan Reese. Nice to (virtually) meet you. I'm the Lead PI on this grant proposal. Glad you're excited about this. I'm excited about the decision to include FoC. There will be a lot of work in these last few days to have all the materials together by Sunday night.

Hi everyone, there's a fellowship w/ 6000 EUR stipend available here https://thenew.new/fellowship/ particularly (but not exclusively) looking for applicants from under represented groups.
We are looking for teams or individuals who envision futures in which new technologies improve the lives of all people and foster equity throughout society. The New Fellowship supports the creation of artworks, stories, concepts and tools that help us imagine and work towards digital futures that are inclusive.
It is nothing to do with me I was just sent it by a friend

We're doing a soft-reboot of the #random-encounters channel. This channel gives community members a fun way to connect and get to know one another. Every so often, you’ll be paired up with one other random person in this channel, via our friendly neighbourhood @donut bot. You and your pair can schedule a video call, or just chat via DMs. These pairings should happen about once per month on average, though the schedule will fluctuate a bit. If you are interested, please join the channel — here's that link again: #random-encounters

Slack has given us a free trial for the next 90 days. That means the full history is searchable. Enjoy! (But, of course, don't get hooked on the pro features. We'll be back on the free plan when the trial ends.)

Our community is now set up on Linen, a(nother) tool that makes our public Slack history searchable. Take a look: https://linen.futureofcoding.org/c/thinking-together There are some design decisions behind this tool that make it not-quite-ideal for us (eg: while it does index all our public channels, it only displays posts that have replies). But I'm actively talking to the main dev, and they're doing a lovely job of tweaking things and planning changes that would make the tool better for how we use Slack. I'd love for you all to kick the tires on this and see if it suits your needs. Let me know if you have questions / feedback for the dev, too.

Introducing #devlog-together. Are you working on things but don’t have something ready to share on #share-your-work or #two-minute-week? This new channel is the perfect place to share and get some feedback on your work. Some guidelines: Try to make your content relevant to FOC. Does your project have to be the most futuristic amazing project ever? No. But it should somehow aspire or be moving towards future of coding topics. Try and make sure the community sees how it fits in. Keep top level posts to tweetish length and only post top level once per day. I’ve always wanted a place where I can share my on-going projects with others. But I’ve also really wanted to see what others are working about and thinking about. This will hopefully be a great place to do that. Looking forward to seeing what you all have going.
