Once per month, when there's a decent chance of either person not showing up, seems a little sparse: how about once per week, with the expectation that most appointments will be dropped, as this gives over four times more opportunities for it to work?

Well, the cause of the no-show issue was that a lot of folks joined the community and then left. So there were inactive accounts in that channel, and @donut seemingly isn't smart enough to ignore inactive accounts. So by removing everyone, we've re-seeded the channel with people who are active. If you'd personally like to have more frequent calls with other people, I think you could just drop some sort of "Hi, I want to meet more people, let's setup some calls, DM me!" in that channel (or even #C01932BJGE8) and I bet other folks would take you up on it.

Is there any way to configure the bot? A “low nag” mode would be appreciated tbh. The “midpoint check-in” alerts feel very spammy.

I've turned the bot all the way down. Yes, there are in fact many… higher nag settings. This is the very bottom. You can feel the hull scraping against the sea floor of Silicon Valley — jetsam and wrecks of past startups, Peter Thiel's morals, warm vents of VC sulphur that extremophile serial founders somehow thrive within.
