Should "requests for exemplars" go in #C5T9GPWFL or #C5U3SEW6A? e.g. if I want to ask people if "you've ever seen a language with X"? Seems like it would trigger #C5T9GPWFL convos, but it definitely starts with "give me links plz". I'm thinking that would qualify as #C5T9GPWFL.

my impression of linking together is that it’s for stuff that starts with external media—so if the query was something like “found this language that does x <link to post explaining it>—does anyone know of similar languages? it would be linking. whereas “hey what languages do x?” would be thinking. i guess my mental model is: prompted by external source? linking. prompted by self-directed inquiry? thinking

Yeah that's a fair distinction! I was thinking along the same lines.

Yep, I think all the reasoning here is excellent. My philosophy is going to be: if something could arguably apply to multiple channels, it's fine to post in any of them.
