Has anyone seen a great WYSIWYG experience for editing margin (and/or) padding in a design tool? I’m thinking something that does not require a tool window on the right side of the screen, and might be a bit opinionated about the amount of flexibility give to the “designer”. One example that comes to my mind is the designer for theming Alfred (for macOS). cc @Ivan Reese @Florian Schulz @Joshua Horowitz?

As I’m not using “Studio”, I can’t really judge wether the margin/padding handles are great. But it’s one of the more direct interfaces of manipulating margin/padding that I know of: https://studio.design/craft

@Florian Schulz, this is excellent, and precisely what I was hoping to find! Thanks for sharing this.

@jamii: I’ve just finished watching. This is also a phenomenal example. The concepts Lynagh uses for sizing are awesome. In our application, we have the opportunity to help the user out in many ways. I particularly like the “Humane Errors” aspect of it as well. I interpret this as: let’s not forbid the user from making a mistake (e.g. not allowing the user to input an invalid number), but let’s use the error as a teachable moment.

On that note, here’s an article with many video examples of the discontinued app Subform: https://subformapp.com/articles/dynamic-layout/
