@Felix Kohlgrüber your post gave me an idea. What if we tried to organize 1:1 chats -- random matchmaker style? So every 2 weeks a group of people are paired up to have 1:1 chats with each other about their projects or perspectives. I feel like something like that would really help everyone involved generate new ideas and benefit from other people's perspectives. Interested anyone? If so I'm happy to help organize

at my old job we used the donut buddies slack plugin

Sounds great, but I'm not sure if needs to be a regular / organized thing. Maybe the easiest way to start would be a channel where people can announce that they'd like to talk and where others can get in touch if they're interested.

donut buddies is pretty flexible, you can snooze it and tell it you're on travel and all sorts of things like that to keep it at the level of engagement you want. I also like it because it can get you out of your bubble
i'm fine with either way but I am definitely more likely to respond to its nudges than if there were no structure

Donut Buddies looks cool -- I do agree structure would help bring more people into the fold and ensure commitment to appointments. Maybe we can try the plugin w/ a small group? @stevekrouse

I love the random matching thing, and would be down with all sorts of experimenting with this model

So I'm coming into this a bit late -- Did anything ever come of this, and/or is anyone still open to it?

@Dan Cook You can join the 1-on-1 channel to get paired up with other people regularly

Done :)
