For too many people ignore the question "what is programming" when trying to "improve" programming or trying to do something visual
I don't entirely agree with the authors definition of programming. As I see programming just as a representation of thought.
But "code is a second-degree map of reality," fits better IMO
The post is really good, very nice to see a mention of Leibniz there ๐Ÿ˜„

I love the fire torch analogy, but itโ€™s a shame he went straight to purely graphical representations. I suspect that Code Bubbles (which Iโ€™m still clinging to as an IDE pattern) would help here.
