I don't entirely agree with the authors definition of programming. As I see programming just as a representation of thought.

I love the fire torch analogy, but itโs a shame he went straight to purely graphical representations. I suspect that Code Bubbles (which Iโm still clinging to as an IDE pattern) would help here.
