I didn't listen to the podcast, but I talked to Nathan Marz about his project late last year. I found it hard to follow, but it seemed to be a framework for building lambda-architecture-style systems.
He made a lot of strong claims about it being able to do things that no other system could do, but he also hadn't heard of differential dataflow, noria, dbtoaster or any of the other systems I mentioned, so I suspect he just isn't at all familiar with the state of the art here.
