How do you feel about what people are doing on Twitch/Youtube? I’ve tried livestreaming a pair programming exercise a few times and it worked out well even though it was a lot of the dealing with errors part of things

Still getting caught up in here, so sorry if this has been discussed ... I've been thinking about setting up a twitch-style livestream so that my team members can, any time they want, drop in and "look over my shoulder" while I'm coding. Looking at Discord for this, but interested in trying out the collaboration/pair programming tools some folks have mentioned in here. Any other suggestions along these lines?

Ooh that’s a really cool idea, I hadn’t thought about doing it in a work setting
But to add more substance 🙂 I just found https://asciinema.org/ and saw that there’s discussion around adding livestream support
So I’m thinking about giving that a shot, since one of the issues I had when I did a pair programming stream was that I had to set my terminal font size to a lot larger than I usually do so that it was legible on the stream

I often stream live coding, it can be fun but I find myself trying to do more 'impressive' things and it doesn't end up being super productive. That could just be me!
On a practical level I really recommend OBS studio https://obsproject.com/
I think that's standard use anyway but I use it for all kinds of things and it's just great

The “impressive” thing is what I liked about doing it with a pair - helps a lot in staying grounded

Came across https://github.com/yudai/gotty ... I think this direction is the way to go. Screensharing is kind of silly when what you really want to share is a terminal (ie, text) that the consumer should be able to format at arbitrary resolution.
