feedback more than welcome, I want to maximize its utility, let me know if it display correctly, if the content makes sense etc.

... You're calling this 2020/01 Week 1. But if you're publishing on Monday, that's December 30th. I think it'd make sense to date the newsletter based on the day of its release — so this would be 2019/12 Week 5. Yes? No?

yes, I assumed it would fall on 2020 🙂
fixed!

Your writing throughout was really good. I enjoyed the little humourous touches, and you've done a masterful job of summarizing the links. The extra effort is very much appreciated!

Ditto (e.g. "some good news", "some bad news")

Just the right balance of links and descriptions!

Very good first issue, thanks a lot. And I like the writing style and the different sections. Good idea to have a past of the future section! I am sure there will bo lots of interesting stuff to put in this section: we all know there are lots of inspiring past visions that don't exist yet.
As the content are very dense, maybe we can try to make it a bit shorter (but as you said, it is because it is the first one).
For some link, it is not very clear who is the author (or you have to click to find out). Like for the Kartik Agaram, Stefan Lesser or William Taysom articles for example. I find it useful to have the names in the newsletter (like for othoer links).

And I agree with Shalabh Chaturvedi about missing context for some links (like the one to Roam) while other have a context phrase. If the reason is the length of the letter, I suggest to have less links but with context for all.

I thought about linking to the users when they mentioned something on slack but I would not know where to link the names
maybe I can ping anyone I add on an issue to ask them to add a link in their bio or something like that
