“ELT” ecosystem question: I’m feeling pretty impressed by the Singer Tap spec’s simplicity for data extraction and resumability, does anyone have opinions on whether it’s a good spec to base on for “ELT”-ish tools? (removed from #C5T9GPWFL)

I'm not very familiar with this space, but on first glance I think it was fine for #C5T9GPWFL!

I've also been interested, though haven't had the chance to to a lot with it yet. Airbyte has published a number of commentaries on the state of the singer ecosystem, and there were a couple episodes related to Meltano on dataengineeringpodcast.com that also discussed singer... It sounded like the spec itself was pretty well regarded, but the actual implementations of the available taps were not consistent nor particularly great

oo nice, happy to chat more about this something if you want @Cole I live in the data tooling world and am friendly with the founders of both Meltano (which is driving Singer standard forward) and Airbyte (their main open source competitor).
in general I’m a fan of its simplicity and it does a decent job attempting to be a general “protocol”
