maybe we should extend the 2 minute week channel to not only allow video's but also very short articles (max 1024 characters?) with some images. I have enough to share about my progress in incremental steps but I dont have the time to make a video that often.
Followed a discussion about the scope of #C0120A3L30R , I copy in this thread some message of the discussion.
I agree with the Maikel suggestion.

Yes, I could certainly share more incremental/non-video progress.  But I thought the #C0120A3L30R was designed more as a once-a-week-video format; with the idea that it didn't overload people.  I agree with @ogadaki that the 2 minute format can be challenging; it takes effort to condense things to two minutes for me; that's why I went with #CCL5VVBAN this week.

I guess the important part of "two-minute-week" is that it doesn't take more than 2 minutes for the audience to catch what you've done since previous week.

This is what #CCL5VVBAN is for! I'm curious why people don't use it more. I would be very happy to see people post even daily updates to it.

I'm happy to do that. I will start. 😉

My understanding (after rereading the Member Handbook) was that #CCL5VVBAN was for showing something specific about your work in any format, and #C0120A3L30R for updates on your progress in video format. I thought #CCL5VVBAN was not a good place for "simple" progress information, and that it is more for something specific you wanted to show to the community. But maybe I have missed something. So where to place some simple weekly update of your progress in a non video format? If I understand well, Mariano thinks it is OK to put it in #C0120A3L30R and Kartrik see #CCL5VVBAN as a good place for it. The two seems OK for me (with a small preference for #C0120A3L30R) but I guess we should clarify this and update the Member Handbook to make it clear!

I also just reread the member-handbook, the #CCL5VVBAN sounds like it can also be used for these "short text format updates". My other thought is that it is also a pitty if the two-minute-video format disappears in favour of more text updates. I thought the two-minute video format was quite unique to this community, which I like a lot. I just wish I had more time to make videos.

if you are writing a weekly summary in text and can be skimmed in two minutes I think it's ok to put it on #C0120A3L30R, if it's a "hey, I did this, what do you think" I think it should go on #CCL5VVBAN, given the amount of messages on that channel I don't think people will get annoyed if you share 3 or 4 a week there

just thinking out loud, that's not an official definition of the channel, but given the low traffic of original content I would be flexible to allow more content over restricting it, at least at this point

@Maikel I always try to do the 2 minute update if I have something to show, but for example lately my updates are more on the side of "achievements" or milestones that have nothing to show for them, so maybe for those I can share text
or the last one where I wanted to show something end to end involving multiple features and there was no way to fit it in two minutes

I'd be happy with either of the following: 1. #C0120A3L30R is short weekly update videos only. Everything else goes in #CCL5VVBAN. 2. #C0120A3L30R is short weekly updates. Video, text, audio — you choose the medium. Longer updates, or discussion of past work, goes in #CCL5VVBAN. Both of these keep the name
#two-minute-week
relevant. Other changes to the format (allowing longer updates, or posts about older work, or more frequent updates) would strain the name, which seems needless — we have #CCL5VVBAN as a fallback, so there's no harm in keeping #C0120A3L30R narrowly defined. My preference is probably just to keep things as they are, since that's less of a make-work project. But I don't have strong feelings either way.
