Does Roam show _everyone_ a 10-second loading animation, or just lil' ol' rural-internet me?

It’s everyone - Roam loads your entire database on start up.

It's not waiting on the network during those pauses, AFACT. It doesn't look like it's actually doing any work until right at the end, and then _after_ it displays the UI it does some more network stuff. Weirdness.

While the loading UI is showing, the entire db loads through a websocket connection to Firebase:

When I looked at the JS/Network/Render timeline, there was what seemed to be a period of inactivity (both network and JS) while the loading indicator was showing, and then the data load happened relative quickly right at the end of that inactive period. But maybe I was missing something. In any case, not a great UX, but they're pretty young so it's forgivable. (Looking at you, old Gmail)
