random thought: feel like i've gone through two phases of "automating stuff:"
⢠wildly overbuilding automations. writing cli tools and formats just to, like, do one thing once
⢠pulling back from the former, having a higher bar for when automation makes sense
and now realizing that the middle ground is macros & scripting in existing applications - vim macros,
numbers.app automation, photoshop workflows, etc. wonder whether being "a programmer" has led me to devote less time (incorrectly) to these things because they "weren't programming" but really they're the correct solution a lot of the time
