History Lessons about smalltalk and Liveness are always interesting. To some degree I do see uptake of these Ideas in unison or gtoolkit

that said there are other issues  which should be at least as much interesting as these technical considerations, like: why this knowledge became so dissociated with mainstream OOP in the first place

one theory I have is that to make OOP performant in the 90s they threw away most of the features needed for liveness (introspection, live modification) without a plan (or will) to integrate them back, after a generation we forgot that they existed
