I liked his emphasis on systems thinking, that it’s lacking in today’s colloquium of learning programming 

I was also happily surprised to see Jessica Kerr mentioned 

I think it will take a long time to really digest what Alan said here. Because the idea of progress seems so implicit but is actually a important driver in our society.  But it is even more multi faceted than Alan describes here.
