For true enduser and malleable programming my thesis is we stop treating source as canonical, its the original sin that separates developers from users. The gaming modding community is a very good example of enduser programming in the wild, and they use decompilation. Why not make decompilation the main access point? I just wrote this up for sumbission to Live 2026 tomlarkworthy.github.io/lopebooks/notebooks/@tomlarkworthy_lopecode-live-2026.html. Very related to @guitarvydas latest blog. I am still drafting it so the charts and prose are a bit off in places but I have a few days to fix it.
