This looks very similar in argumentation to David Hogg's essay "Why do we do astrophysics?". Roughly: Why outsource an activity you like to AI if your liking it is the only reason why it's worth doing? Since people are doing this, they must see a reason. One of them is probably competitivity. If you see yourself in competition with others, even for a just-for-fun thing, then game theory predicts that everyone in the game will increase their chance of winning, to the detriment of any other consideration.
