Hi all! I'm Pontus from Sweden and I found my way here through Ink & Switch and (I think)
a talk about Programming in Excel by Felinne Hermans▾
.
I'm interested in how technology shapes our lives, online culture, end-user programming, and being creative with computers in general.
Since my first interaction with a computer I've wanted to master them, knowing it all. But it was not until recently I made it my main occupation as a specialist in product information management (ETL with csv-files and Miller ftw!).
My fascination range from Moritz Stefaner to Raspberry Pi, from iOrnament to Ian Hacking, from Conway's Game of Life to the Daemon Core.

Hi Pontus, it just occurred to me that your post got me messing around for the umpteenth time with Game of Life.
On this occasion I played with the idea of, "what if we interpreted a row of multiple cells as a single rgb pixel? The (somewhat predictable with hindsight) answer: you can only see vertical movement, because only a few bits are visible, and horizontal movements outside of those bits become invisible.
Thank you for the nudge!
