Hello, everyone! A few weeks before I came here, I was thinking I was working on things nobody cares about. Now I call them Explorable Explanations / Media for Thinking the Unthinkable, and I feel better (a bit) 🙂. At least there’s a chance for someone to ask questions or join in. Here are some examples: • YMO (translate("I love my textbooks", { to: "bg" }).split(" ").map(word => word[0]).reverse().join("").toUpperCase();) is an e-ink app for learning from PDFs. You can extend the e-paper anywhere, adding blank space to fill with handwritten notes or an interactive (web) component. This allows – all in one place. Interesting here is what happens when components interact with the PDF content. • A block-based (Snap!) interface for music composition. Blocks are notes, tunes are scripts, and vice-blocks (C-shaped) are composers’ tools that let you manipulate tunes. Similar to what , , Ritchie Blackmore, etc. once did. They didn’t use this interface, of course, but working on it inspired me to create two pieces of music, (original sound with my bagpipe coming soon), a (a fugue-like 4+ voices piece based on a traditional tune) • Igromat is a board game generator set consisting of customizable tiles, magnet board, a few types of dice and pieces. One can arrange it to play Chess, Go, Ur, etc; create a board game to fit special occasions; explore how changing the math model underneath reflects the game play. • Video-like presentations of the joy of programming where you can pause the lesson and interact with the current state of the program being demonstrated. The work is based on Thomas Price’s Snap! replay. There’s a demo (in Bulgarian) for weaving on a virtual loom and composing music. So what is the first thought when you read those? What ideas do you get? How do you relate this with your experience? Besides that most of my time goes into developing software. Occasionally, I assist in workshops for teachers and students called _Mathematics as Music for the Soul_ and play traditional music with my band. I’m moving to Switzerland soon, so any meetups in between there and Bulgaria are welcomed.
