The article articulates some of the ideas I've been feeling recently about how reaching directly for an answer from a chatbot is a bad idea, because you skip the process of finding the answer from a messy combination of web pages, IRC chats, forum posts, research papers. etc.

Observation: In the past, arguments arose when it was proposed to allow electronic calculators in exams, to allow using slide rules instead of log tables, to suggest using C instead of assembler. A missing ingredient might be “what else, new, could occupy the minds of people who get to use more efficient tools?”
