So I wonder if maybe this distinction is still hard to follow. Also, now that we don't have "future" in our name, "present" feels less salient. Until now I thought of it as, "anything not trying to think about the blue-sky future belongs in the long present." But now that contrast may be less accessible to newcomers.

The obvious solution: rename "present-company" to "pc".

@Bill Mill Maybe some bit of recent history of this group will help you: our name used to be "Future of Coding", but lots of people were not really happy with that. After a long discussion, we opted for "FoC" where the interpretation of the three letters can change over time. As you can see, right now it is "Fear of Clicking".

Yeah, there is no more inside baseball than that. I don't really understand doing things ironically, and we try to stay easy for others to join.
