Seems like this was an urban legend constructed using human's new best (artificial) friend. On topic: Hacking/modifying traffic lights really would be highly unresponsible, even if you have the competence. I get that its a fun fantasy to explore, where anyone can chime in and fix stuff. But existing solutions are contracts that we rely on. With that said, really enjoy the idea of anarchistic, get-to-know-thy-neighbor, trust at the bottom of the stack, especially when bounded by spatial locality. Sorry to this time be the old person yelling at the manufactured fake cloud. Off topic: I know ML is a fascinating family of algorithms, but I personally would really appreciate if we could try not to link to things like this without checking the sources a bit. And then, if linking, giving a heads up before. I just get very tired by seeing capitalism in the face in my daily life, and this particular part of it I would love to not leak into online community spaces too much.
