Roomy chat looks interesting. In addition to various levels of nerding out we can do over it, it provides an interesting looking workflow for a community to go from ephemeral chat to slightly persistent threads to more timeless long-form writing. Related thread. FoC-esque test group. You need to authenticate using a Bsky/ATproto account. Be aware it's all alpha software so far and might get torn down at any time. But in principle even if that happens we will all have the data or the group in our browser storage 🤯

Oh yeah, there's a link right in the UI that lets anyone download a zip file containing the whole group's data at any time!

Hi ! Kartik! I'm eagerly awating Roomy to be more stable usable. To switch from public to private writing with easy is still something that is not easily possible with todays tools.

My usecase/interest for roomy came from this perspective: I'm using my zettelkasten but then I wanted to collaborate with a friend and he uses primarily Mindmaps and OneNote so we were looking for a collaboration tool. At first we settled on anytype which has nice sync support to mobile. But the feature differences between mobile and desktop are too stark, also you can only share with 3 people spaces then you have to pay even if it is suppossed to be a P2P solution? In that sense I like roomy better it has less features but I can atleast access the data.
