👋 Hi all. I’ve been doing web dev for six years. Googling Elixir/Erlang stuff → somehow @jonathoda’s Vimeo channel → his interview on the podcast → this Slack workspace I’ve never formally studied PL theory/postsecondary math/really anything related, but I’ve skimmed the first page and a half of a lot of PDFs. Like others here, I’m dogged by persistent fantasies about how my programming experiences could be improved, which for me tends to lead to thinking about language user interface design and how programmers experience the meaning of code (so semantics, but in the original sense?). My on-again, off-again pet project is a structure editor that uses color and shape to convey syntax but largely retains the visual layout of text editors.
