Collecting and rendering marginal distributions for every expression in this
PPL model was a bit much for my laptop, so I spent the morning in the profiler and optimized it from 210ms/frame to 40ms/frame. 🙌🏼
I felt like being in school again to have the profiler basically jump up and down and shout, "Hey, look! I found the O(n^2) part!"
That doohickey in the upper right was something I came up with to indicate when my framerate is inconsistent. It's a
lissajous plot where one axis cycles every second and the other axis cycles every 30 frames, so the shape is stable when things are good (a slanted circle or infinity), but starts to morph if the framerate goes up or down. It's way more fun than a line chart, though perhaps less precise. :)
