The accepted contributions to Onward! Essays (https://2024.splashcon.org/track/splash-2024-Onward-Essays#event-overview) and Onward! papers (https://2024.splashcon.org/track/splash-2024-Onward-papers#event-overview) have been announced. Many of the titles/abstracts sound very relevant for our community. And three essays have authors from FoC.

Special alert for @guitarvydas: the Onward! paper by Weiher, Hirschfeld, and Taeumel looks aligned with your quest for moving beyond function-based programming. And that reminds me that I have seen earlier work by Weiher on this topic, though I don't have concrete references at hand.

@Konrad Hinsen Thanks for the shout out! I am super happy with that paper, despite its flaws, because I finally managed to clearly and succinctly describe how the magic of Objective-S works, and how that leads to a flexible meta-programmable language that can directly express architecture(s). This has been eluding me for years if not decades, because there’s just a lot of stuff that is also relevant, but not really core.

Looking forward to that paper! I didn't know you were here as well. Nice 🙂
