I want to program as cheap as possible but still with relative comfort and with portability in mind.

My MacBook Air on m1 chip checks two out of three boxes.
My Samsung Tab S6 Lite with bluetooth keyboard check all three boxes.

So "cheap" is in terms of hardware cost? Or software as well?
From what you say it sounds as if Android is a reasonable development platform by now. Are there any development tools you would recommend in particular?

I did not think of software part, so I would reformulate - in the cost of hardware and software, for Android tablets - Godot game engine can be used for programming - it has built in editor

The cost of the computer is nothing compared to the cost to our time. We only get a limited number of orbits. Our computers slow us down.
