Does anyone know if there is somewhere a new implementation of something similar to GRAIL system from Rand corporation ?

Apple Scribble. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/w8U48FpR2UI
Apple Newton had this decades ago. I don't remember how far Palm Pilot took this kind of idea. Samsung tablets came with a pencil many years ago, so I imagine that they had something like this. Personally, I find it faster to type with 10 fingers instead of using 1 pencil.

yep typing with 10 fingers is definitely faster, so I find switching between input types frustrating, so this means I might need a keyboard oriented IDE instead

@guitarvydas I dropped development of this project for now, looks like keyboard oriented design is what works for me, at least for me

@Oleksandr Kryvonos aside: Don't forget the project entirely. Plenty of smart people are not software developers and don't need 10-finger access to computers. For example, my dentist graduated from university and uses computers, but, doesn't keyboard as well as I do. I have come to the conclusion that there are at least 2 classes of UX. (1) DX for programmers, and, (2) UX for non-programmers.
