Hello! I'm Pete—web developer based in Brooklyn, NY. I've been a programmer for a couple years now and am just starting to read up on the history of coding/computing, so I'm here to learn! On that note, I'd love any reading recommendations (book, blog, person, etc.). I also write on my digital garden, like this post from yesterday on things I found interesting reading Hamming.

For some context on reading recs, I recently finished The Dream Machine and just started the Hamming book linked above, The Art and Science of Doing Engineering. I still haven't read any Bret Victor, who seems like a favorite in FoC, but he's high on my list of what to read next. I also want to read more Ink & Switch.

I really appreciate the format you use for e.g. the notes on Hamming; super accessible! Also thanks to you I found the idea of Digital gardening! I’m still digesting, but it’s an idea that resonates with me!

Thank you! I actually just wrote up the rest of my notes from the Hamming book last night. Re digital gardening, @Maggie Appleton’s essay on its history and ethos is the best place to start your digging. Maggie's garden is the root inspiration for mine!
