Core is an interesting upcoming game building tool. This has the most information I've seen about what the actual creation tools might look like. I'd like to see the scripting capabilities. Although I'm guessing its similar to a slightly more generic version of Overwatch's Workshop scripting they haven't shown anything. This is funny to me because they made a lot of choices that were clearly stickier\more fun for users (pre-built game modes, heavy kitbashing), but aren't as "pure" for a technical\engineering standpointhttps://www.theverge.com/2020/3/2/21158189/core-free-game-creation-tool-pc-youtube-twitch
I have no idea how to do graphics or sound. But a forcing function would be helpful.
All that I need for a basic implementation of Hest's renderer is something like: the ability to draw stroked straight lines, filled rectangles and circles, and the most basic text (bitmap font) at arbitrary sizes and positions... with a few thousand drawing operations of various sorts happening in less than 3ms.
